Second Harvest Food Bank Service Project
Saturday, April 14, 2018 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee Farm to Families
Location: TBD (you will be notified prior to the event of the exact farm in need for the week)
Volunteers will work a Farm to Families event at Second Harvest Food Bank. The Farm to Families program works with eight partner farms to provide volunteer opportunities. Volunteers help care for and harvest many different crops to be donated to Second Harvest and local partner agencies to help feed those in need. They offer farm volunteer opportunities at eight different locations. Because availability for crops may change, you will be notified closer to the date which location needs extra hands.
Volunteers work in an outdoor environment. Please dress appropriately for the weather forecast.
- Closed-toe shoes are required for all volunteers’ safety. No exceptions.
- Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. You’ll be standing/walking much of the shift.
- Wear layers, so you’ll be prepared if the weather changes.
- Age requirement: volunteers must be seven or older.
Please sign up on our Second Harvest registration page by Monday, April 9.
