About Kate Auletta:
Kate Auletta ‘04 was raised in Manhattan in a media-centric family. Her father is a New Yorker writer and author; her mother is a literary agent representing remarkable writers. Kate has built a successful career in media and is currently the editor-in-chief at Scary Mommy, an online publisher focused on the humorous side of motherhood.
After graduating from Davidson, Kate turned an internship at InStyle Magazine into a full-time job, helped launch the Wall Street Journal Magazine and spent over 11 years at HuffPost. She loves her work, from ideation to editing, and believes that media is both essential and fun.
Kate is a mom of two boys, married to fellow Davidsonian Mike Malenbaum '04 and lives in Westchester. She envisions this group as a place for local Davidson alums in media to connect, ask questions and socialize. She suggests creating a listserv, organizing meetups and discussing industry topics over a glass of wine.
Believing in the supportive spirit of Davidson, Kate hopes to continue this tradition in their professional lives.
