The mission of the Men's Shelter of Charlotte is to provide safe emergency shelter while working to end homelessness for each man.

Volunteers will join the meal brigade and serve a meal to neighbors in Charlotte experiencing homelessness.

We have reached capacity for the April 8 service project. Please contact Peter Kelpin if you wish to placed on the waiting list.

Samaritan House Service Project

Samaritan House provides short term recuperative care for homeless men and women in a home-like setting. They provide guests access to clean bedrooms, bath facilities, nutritious meals and transportation to appointments.

Volunteers will spend the evening visiting with Samaritan House guests, engaging in fellowship and supporting with projects as needed.

Habitat for Humanity Service Projects

Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte (HFHC) was founded in 1983 by seven local churches and has remained a top Habitat for Humanity affiliate since its establishment. 

On Saturday, April 6, volunteers will shingle the roof of this newly constructed, one-story Habitat house. Please note volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
A "HUGS" safety rail system will be installed along the perimeter of the roof.

On Saturday, April 13, volunteers will complete various framing punch list tasks and begin preparing for roof trusses. Please note volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers ages 16 and 17 cannot use power tools, work at heights six feet and above, or do any work in the crawl space. Please visit the HFHC Volunteer Information webpage to learn more information about our service project and to sign the release of liability for minors form. 

Drinking water and all necessary tools & safety equipment will be provided by HFHC. Closed-toed footwear (work boots or athletic sneakers only) is required. We recommend bringing your own work gloves, if available. 

Please register on the organization website under group number 2627 by Wednesday, April 3. Also, please email Peter Kelpin if you plan on attending the Habitat build.
